Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Fuse Games' runs-based racer set in the Outer Rim, launched on October 6, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and Amazon Prime members can stream its single-player modes on Luna at no extra cost. Star Wars: Galactic Racer launches, with a Prime option on Luna
Fuse Games marked the October 6 launch with an Xbox Wire post about its central idea. You play Shade, a lone racer in the Galactic League, an underground circuit in the Outer Rim, and you pilot speeder bikes, landspeeders, skim speeders and podracers. The campaign is built in runs: crash too often and you wreck out and restart the tour, but every crash also teaches you something for the next attempt.
What it means for you:
- Price: publisher Secret Mode's release-date announcement set $59.99 for the Standard Edition, $79.99 for the Deluxe Edition (three bonus vehicles, three Arcade events, liveries and a digital art book) and $159.99 for the physical Collector's Edition. Steam also sells a $19.99 Deluxe Upgrade.
- Multiplayer: online races for up to 12 players, with cross-platform play listed on Steam.
- Prime and Luna: Amazon told GamesIndustry.biz that Prime members can stream the campaign plus the Arcade and Scenario modes on Luna at no extra cost. Kotaku found that the Luna version has no multiplayer.
Our take: If you already pay for Prime, Luna is a free way to find out whether the runs-based campaign clicks before you spend $59.99. If online races are what you want, you need the console or PC version.
Xbox says GTA 6 won't stream exclusively, or to PC
The Verge reported on October 6, citing sources familiar with Microsoft's plans, that Xbox had landed a streaming deal for Grand Theft Auto VI after CEO Asha Sharma teased a GTA 6 move at an employee meeting. The first version called the deal exclusive, which raised hopes of playing GTA 6 on a PC through Xbox Cloud Gaming. That evening, Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball posted on X: GTA 6 launches on Xbox on November 19, but it "will not be streaming exclusively or to PC." The Verge has since corrected its story.
What it means for you:
- No PC option at launch: Rockstar's official page still lists November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only, and Rockstar hasn't announced a PC version.
- Open question: The Verge's correction says Xbox clarified that its streaming deal isn't exclusive, but neither Microsoft nor Rockstar has said what the deal covers, so treat the rest of the report as unconfirmed until they do.
Our take: If you hoped to stream GTA 6 on a laptop on launch day, plan on a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S instead. Ball's post is short, but it is the only on-the-record answer so far.
Overwatch Season 5 adds Doctrine and moves Sombra to Support
Blizzard's Season 5 announcement says Reign of Talon - Season 5: A Grim Doctrine started on October 6 with Doctrine, a vampire-themed Support hero tied to Doomfist's past. His Ultimate gives allies Overhealth while capping enemies' maximum health. The October 6 patch notes also move Sombra from Damage to Support, rework Roadhog with a two-burst Scrap Gun and a new Trash Compactor ability, and add Grímsvötn, which Blizzard calls the first new Escort map in years.
What it means for you:
- Halloween event: Mystery Madness: Graveyard Games runs October 6 to November 2. You come back from every death with random powers, and you vote with Offerings on whether Ashe, Moira or Winston joins the mode next.
- Old Battle Passes return: Unvaulted Passes bring back the passes from legacy Seasons 1‑15. You can progress one alongside the current pass, and earlier progress carries over, but Overwatch Coins, XP Boosts, Mythic Prisms, Prestige Titles and Mythic hero and weapon skins are left out.
- Doctrine was toned down: the patch notes say he was overperforming during his trial weekend, so parts of his kit changed for launch.
Our take: Sombra changing roles is the biggest shake-up here, so expect a messy few weeks while players figure her out. Unvaulted Passes are a fair second chance at old rewards, as long as you know Mythic skins aren't part of the deal.
Pokémon HOME now links with FireRed and LeafGreen on Switch
The Pokémon Company announced on October 7 that the Nintendo Switch versions of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen now connect to Pokémon HOME. You can move the Pokémon you befriended there into HOME and on to other games in the series, including Pokémon Champions.
What it means for you:
- One way only: once a Pokémon leaves FireRed or LeafGreen, it can't go back, and Pokémon from other games can't visit FireRed or LeafGreen.
- Free Celebi: complete the FireRed or LeafGreen Pokédex and you can claim the Mythical Celebi in HOME's mobile app. You don't need to transfer anything to qualify.
- More storage: the version 4.1.0 patch notes, as Nintendo Everything published them, raise Premium Plan storage from 6,000 to 9,000 Pokémon at the same price. The Pokémon HOME site lists the Premium Plan at $2.99 for a month or $15.99 for a year on the Nintendo eShop.
Our take: The one-way rule is the catch. Move only the Pokémon you're finished with, and leave anything you still want to use in your FireRed or LeafGreen save.
Warhammer Survivors launches November 10
Auroch Digital announced on PlayStation Blog on October 6 that Warhammer Survivors, its take on Vampire Survivors made in partnership with poncle, launches November 10. The post shows two of its more than 40 playable champions: Morvenn Vahl, a Warhammer 40,000 commander in a Paragon Warsuit, and Lyssa Revenya, a Warhammer Age of Sigmar thief whose rope and grapnel drag enemies across the screen.
What it means for you:
- Platforms: PS5, plus Steam and the US eShop for Switch and Switch 2, which all list November 10.
- Price: the eShop lists $7.99 on Switch and Switch 2, with a pre-order price of $7.19 until 11:59 p.m. PT on November 17. Sony's post gives no price, but PlayStation Plus members get 10% off PS5 pre-orders. Steam doesn't show a price yet.
- What it is: a bullet-heaven game where your weapons fire on their own while you dodge swarms. Steam lists more than 75 weapons.
Our take: At $7.99 on Switch, this is priced as an easy impulse buy, and the survivors formula suits short sessions. It lands nine days before GTA 6, but a game this cheap doesn't need your whole month.
