Nightdive Studios' remaster of the 1998 stealth classic Thief: The Dark Project now has a date: December 3, 2026, for $29.99, with a new four-mission campaign included. Also in this roundup: Nagoshi Studio, the studio Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi founded under NetEase, has been formally dissolved, the Borderlands series has passed 100 million copies sold, and PowerWash Simulator 2's Barbie Pack has a date.
Thief: The Dark Project Remastered launches December 3 with a new campaign
Atari and Nightdive Studios dated the remaster on November 2, and its store listings now show December 3, 2026 on Steam, the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store and the Nintendo eShop. Remastered in Nightdive's KEX Engine, it includes the original's 12 missions and the three extra missions from 1999's Thief Gold. The Steam page says it also comes with The Tarnished Mirror, a new four-mission campaign set after the original story, made by the creators of the fan-made The Black Parade mod.
What it means for you:
- Price: $29.99 for the Standard Edition. The PlayStation Store lists a $34.99 Digital Deluxe Edition that adds the soundtrack, a remaster diary of the artwork and a preview of a Thief novel.
- Platforms: PC on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S (with Xbox Play Anywhere), Switch and Switch 2. The eShop lists the Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack at $0 for Switch owners.
- What's new: up to 4K at 120 fps, a weapon and item wheel, gyro controls and a mission selector.
- Boxed copies: PC Gamer reports physical pre-orders are open for consoles only, including an edition in a copy of the original's trapezoid-shaped big box.
Our take: $29.99 for a cleaned-up Thief plus a new campaign from the team behind one of its most respected mods is a strong deal for stealth fans. It is also a low-cost way for newcomers to try a game that helped define the genre.
Nagoshi Studio, the maker of Gang of Dragon, is formally dissolved
A notice in Japan's official government gazette, Kanpo, on November 2 says Nagoshi Studio's shareholders voted to dissolve the company on October 31, 2026, and gives creditors two months to file claims. Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi founded the Tokyo studio with NetEase backing after leaving Sega, and it revealed its first game, Gang of Dragon, at The Game Awards in December 2025, GamesIndustry.biz reports. NetEase later cut its funding, and PC Gamer reports the studio found no new backer.
What it means for you:
- Gang of Dragon: the notice does not mention the game, and neither NetEase nor Nagoshi has said what happens to it.
- Its store page: Gang of Dragon's Steam page was still up on November 3, listed as coming soon with no date.
Our take: With its developer dissolved and no new owner announced, it is safest to treat Gang of Dragon as canceled. It is a sad end for one of the more intriguing reveals of The Game Awards 2025.
Borderlands passes 100 million copies, and The Hunt fundraiser starts November 6
Gearbox said on November 2 that the Borderlands franchise, which began in 2009, has passed 100 million units sold. The studio also said Borderlands 4's Year 1 roadmap is finished, after two Story Packs, five Bounty Packs and two new Vault Hunters, and that it is working on more Borderlands 4 content for 2027.
What it means for you:
- The Hunt, from November 6: the community fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital returns. 2K Foundations and Gearbox will match every dollar donated, up to the event's record of $118,995.80, which could push the total past $230,000.
- In the meantime: weekly activity refreshes and community challenges continue in Borderlands 4.
- What's next: no dates or details yet. Gearbox is asking players which characters and stories they want next, on social media and on its Gearbox Devcast show.
Our take: 100 million copies puts Borderlands in rare company for a shooter series. With no 2027 details yet, The Hunt is the most concrete reason to jump back in during November.
PowerWash Simulator 2's Barbie Pack arrives December 3 for $7.99
FuturLab announced on November 2 that the Barbie Pack for PowerWash Simulator 2 launches December 3, the same day as the Thief remaster.
What's in it:
- Five new levels set across Barbie locations and accessories, with a story told through text messages.
- 10 new achievements or trophies and a Barbie-themed outfit to clean in.
- Price and platforms: $7.99 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and Switch 2. It is DLC, so you need PowerWash Simulator 2, which is $24.99 on Steam. The pack's Steam page is open for wishlists.
Our take: Five new levels for $7.99 is a fair price for more of a very relaxing game. If you already own PowerWash Simulator 2, it is an easy pick for December.
